Modern JPOs on Jalan Sudirman Inaugurated Today

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan inaugurates three modern pedestrian bridges (JPO) which are located on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. Those are Bundaran Senayan JPO, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) JPO, and Polda Metro Jaya JPO.

"Construction of two JPOs is now completed, while Polda Metro JPO is on finishing stage," he mentioned on the location, Thursday (2/28).

According to him, those JPOs become reference for urban photographs since its design is unique and artistic, especially with its lightning that makes it more aesthetic.

"JPO and sidewalk are not only built to facilitate pedestrians and public transportation users, but also to give an interesting and memorable experience while walking on it," he expressed.

Those JPOs are also designed to be friendly towards disabled people. Thus he wants this project to be one of government's efforts in implementing equality for citizens.

Bina Marga Department Head, Hari Nugroho stated, his side spends Rp 53 billion to revitalize those three JPOs. Each JPOs are also equipped with lift and closed circuit television (CCTV) units.

"We are pleased to provide JPOs which are friendly for disabled people, pregnant women, elderly, and children," he added.
